A gruesome murder in Visakhapatnam has sent shockwaves across the coastal city, after a 35-year-old naval technician allegedly killed his girlfriend, dismembered her body, and stored parts of it in his house in the Gajuwaka area.

The incident took place in LV Nagar under the 70th ward of Gajuwaka, triggering panic among local residents. Police have arrested the accused, identified as Ch Ravinder, who later surrendered at the police station and confessed to the crime. The technician is the native of Rajam in Vizianagaram district.

Ravinder is married and had an affair with the deceased. His wife had left the city to visit her hometown.

According to police officials, the victim, Mounika, 29, had visited Ravinder’s residence on Sunday afternoon, March 29, after he called her. The two reportedly spent several hours together before an argument broke out in the evening.

Investigators said that in a fit of rage, Ravinder stabbed Mounika to death. He then allegedly proceeded to dismember her body. Some body parts were stored in a refrigerator inside the house, while others were packed into a gunny bag.

Not all body remains recovered

Police suspect that Ravinder disposed of certain parts of the body at an isolated location after the murder. However, not all remains have been recovered so far. Officials confirmed that the victim’s head is still missing, and efforts are underway to trace it.

After committing the crime, Ravinder went to the Gajuwaka police station and surrendered, leading to the discovery of the murder. Police teams subsequently visited the house, where they recovered several body parts.

A special team has now been formed to locate the missing remains and reconstruct the sequence of events. Forensic examination and further investigation are ongoing.

Preliminary inquiries suggest that personal disputes and relationship issues may have led to the murder. Police also indicated that the accused’s wife was not present at the house at the time of the incident, as she was reportedly staying at her parental home.

A murder case has been registered, and authorities are continuing their investigation to establish the exact motive and circumstances surrounding the crime.

The brutal nature of the incident has created widespread fear and outrage in the Gajuwaka area, with residents expressing shock over the chilling details that have emerged so far.
