Synopsis: Visakhapatnam is all set to host the 30th CII Partnership Summit 2025, jointly hosted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and the Confederation of Indian Industry. Over 100 international delegates are expected to attend, with several Memoranda of Understanding worth thousands of crores likely to be inked.

Visakhapatnam is all set to roll out the red carpet for the 30th CII Partnership Summit 2025. Scheduled for 14 and 15 November, the event is jointly hosted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

The port city is abuzz with preparations as delegates from India and across the globe, including top corporate leaders, policymakers, and investors, converge to explore new avenues of growth.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who is personally supervising the arrangements, will camp in Visakhapatnam for four days to ensure the event goes off without a hitch.

In the run-up to the summit, Naidu took part in the India–Europe Business Partnership Round Table on Thursday, 13 November, where he showcased Andhra Pradesh as a rising star in the global investment landscape.

He said: “Visakhapatnam is a magnificent coastal city blessed with abundant natural resources,” he said, announcing that Google will establish its largest Artificial Intelligence data centre outside the United States in the city. He also revealed that a major sub-sea cable network is being laid from the region — a move expected to strengthen the state’s digital infrastructure.

Highlight efforts in power generation

Turning his attention to sustainable growth, Naidu said Andhra Pradesh is powering ahead in solar, wind, and pumped hydro energy. With India targeting 500 gigawatts of renewable power, “the state alone is working toward producing 160 gigawatts,” he said. He also highlighted ongoing efforts to bolster port connectivity, railway networks, and logistics hubs that link Andhra Pradesh with major Indian cities and global trade routes.

Naidu asserted that Andhra Pradesh stands “second to none” in facilitating business. “Once investors come forward, we assign an escort officer to help them set up industries. Quick approvals, robust incentives, and proactive governance are our hallmarks,” he said, adding, “By 2047, India will be among the world’s leading nations — and Andhra Pradesh will be at the forefront of that transformation.”

Themed “Partners in Progress – India’s Roadmap to Viksit Bharat 2047,” the summit will project Visakhapatnam as a Global Trade Gateway on India’s east coast. The venue — Andhra University Engineering College Grounds — will host sessions focusing on green energy, information technology, electronics, automobiles, defence, and tourism.

Over 100 international delegates are expected to attend, with several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth thousands of crores likely to be inked.

Vice President CP Radhakrishnan will inaugurate the summit, while Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal will open the Andhra Pradesh Pavilion. Business stalwarts such as Yusuff Ali, Baba Kalyani, and Karan Adani will also take part.

What the summit promises

On the opening day, sessions on “Technology, Trust, and Trade” and “AI for Viksit Bharat” will set the tone, followed by an agreement with Singapore to launch direct flight services between Singapore and Vijayawada. In the evening, Naidu will participate in the “Reimagining Public Finance Summit”, meet Sanjiv Goenka Group’s Vice-Chairman, and lay the foundation stone for a new Lulu Mall in Visakhapatnam.

The next day’s agenda includes meetings with Bloomberg Media, foundation ceremonies for Raymond, Sri City, and Indosole projects, and interactions with delegations from Bahrain, New Zealand, Canada, and Japan. Naidu will also inaugurate the World Economic Forum’s Centre for Frontier Technologies and lay the foundation stone for Google’s new facility.

Adding momentum to the investment buzz, Bharat Forge Vice-Chairman Amit Kalyani met Naidu in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday ahead of the summit. The industrial giant is exploring investment opportunities in shipbuilding, electronics, advanced systems, and a river cruise project at the scenic Gandikota reservoir.

Naidu urged Bharat Forge to leverage the state’s investment potential and explore opportunities in the shipbuilding and tourism sectors at Gandikota, Papikondalu, and Araku Valley, noting that Araku Coffee has already earned global acclaim.

According to official estimates, the CII Partnership Summit 2025 could draw investment proposals worth ₹10 lakh crore. The event is expected to catalyse Andhra Pradesh’s next growth phase by enhancing its brand image, accelerating industrialisation, and generating employment opportunities.

In the lead-up to the summit, Naidu held investment promotion programmes in Singapore, the UAE, and the UK, while IT and Industries Minister Nara Lokesh led outreach efforts with both domestic and international industry leaders to attract investors to the state.
