Synopsis: A video allegedly showing TTD Chairman BR Naidu in a compromising position with a woman has triggered a controversy. Former TTD Chairman and senior YSRCP leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy demanded an immediate resignation of Naidu. However, Naidu claimed that the video was a deepfake.
A sensational video allegedly showing Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chairman BR Naidu in a compromising position with a woman has gone viral on social media, triggering a controversy.
The clip, which features a man resembling Naidu in an intimate situation, has been widely shared across platforms, drawing sharp criticism.
The video’s rapid spread has some raising questions about the sanctity of the revered Tirumala temple administration.
Former TTD Chairman and senior YSRCP leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy reacted sharply, demanding an immediate resignation of Naidu. In a video posted on X and while addressing the media, Reddy described the visuals as “immoral” and said they have “hurt the sentiments of Hindus.”
He claimed the video is authentic and not AI-generated. “I consulted AI experts, and they confirmed that the visuals are real,” Reddy asserted.
Reddy called the incident “unprecedented in the long history of TTD” and accused Naidu of bringing disrepute to the temple. Reddy further demanded a criminal investigation and urged religious leaders to respond to the issue.
He demanded that Naidu immediately resign as TTD chairman if he had any moral values. “You (Naidu) exhibited no guilt and, on the other hand, were trying to malign the YSRCP by accusing it of creating the video,” Reddy said.
Reddy said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who has become overly devotional of late, should sack him forthwith and uphold the sanctity of TTD.
In his response, Naidu categorically rejected the allegations, terming them “malicious propaganda” orchestrated by political rivals, particularly YSRCP-affiliated individuals.
In a statement posted on social media, Naidu said the content is “completely false and distorted” and created using advanced AI technology to morph his likeness.
“Deepfake videos are being circulated to tarnish my personal reputation and undermine the prestige of the TD,” he stated.
Naidu has already lodged a formal complaint with the Cyber Crime Police, seeking a thorough probe into the origin and circulation of the morphed visuals. He vowed to take legal action against those responsible for the defamation.
