Meanwhile, the woman’s father and relatives allegedly tried to take her away with them. As a dispute was taking place at the police station and NSG commandos involved in the Chief Minister’s security arrangements had arrived there in connection with the woman, the police personnel informed their senior officials.

Following directions from senior officials, the police warned and counselled the commando who had allegedly attempted to attack the woman. Based on the information provided by the police officers, officials from the security wing withdrew their personnel from the police station.

The woman’s father and maternal uncle asked the Nunna police to hand over their daughter, who had married against the family’s wishes. The police made it clear that since both the young woman and the man are majors, she could not be handed over to her family against her wishes.

Nunna Circle Inspector Ahmed Ali told South First that no case had been registered in connection with the incident. He said the couple were both majors and the family had been counselled not to harass them. He also said that police personnel intervened when the commando allegedly attempted to attack the woman and warned them against acting in violation of the law.
