In a key coordination meeting with fertiliser manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers, Agriculture Director Dilli Rao IAS emphasised that fertilisers must be made available to farmers without delay.

With water projects across Andhra Pradesh brimming due to recent rains, agricultural activities such as paddy planting and intercropping are in full swing.

Dilli Rao noted that, on the Chief Minister’s recommendation, Anakapalle has been approved as a central railway goods depot for fertiliser transport, helping reduce logistics costs.

Retailers will also benefit from free lorry transport provided directly by manufacturers, a move expected to ease price pressures.

A joint commitment was made by stakeholders to ensure smooth fertiliser availability statewide. Senior agriculture officials and representatives from 14 major companies attended the session.

The state government is also actively working with the Centre to secure similar benefits at Hindupur and Madanapalle depots.
