TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu’s assets grow at 41% to ₹810 crore in five years

TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu and Andhra Pradesh BJP chief D Purandeswari filed their nominations for the forthcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections respectively in the state on Friday.

Naidu’s wife N Bhuvaneswari filed the nomination on behalf of her husband at Kuppam for the Assembly election to take on YSRCP’s candidate KR J Bharat.

“Nara Bhuvaneswari, wife of former Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu, today filed the official nomination on behalf of TDP chief’¦in Kuppam,” said a TDP press release.

After filing her nomination, Bhuvaneswari urged the public to ensure that no other flag flutters in Kuppam other than TDP’s.

Assets of Naidu

Assets of Naidu and his family grew by over 41 percent in the past five years to ₹810.42 crore, according to an affidavit filed with the Election Commission on Friday.

Bhuvaneswari owns the lion’s share of the assets, as she holds 2.26 crore shares of Heritage Foods Ltd worth ₹337.85 apiece (market value). The total value of the shareholding stands at nearly ₹764 crore as against ₹545.76 crore in 2019.

In 2019, Naidu’s family owned assets, both movable and immovable worth ₹574.3 crore, as per the affidavit filed by the TDP chief for the last assembly polls.

Bhuvaneswari also possesses 3.4 kg of gold and nearly 41.5 kg silver.

The TDP leader individually owns movable assets worth ₹4.80 lakh and immovable assets worth ₹36.31 lakh, and the family has total liabilities of over ₹10 crore.

The former chief minister also owns one Ambassador car valued at ₹2.25 lakh.

Naidu’s name is mentioned in as many as 24 FIRs related to various cases, the affidavit said

Purandeswari files nomination

Purandeswari filed her nomination for the Rajamahendravaram Lok Sabha seat, accompanied by senior BJP leader V K Singh.

Purandeswari will taken on YSRCP’s G Srinivasulu at the hustings.

TDP, BJP and Janasena are part of the NDA in the southern state.

Assembly elections will be held simultaneously with the Lok Sabha polls in Andhra Pradesh on May 13.
