Restoration works at Srisailam
Restoration works are underway at the sacred temples of Simhachalam and Srisailam to arrest water leakages using age-old traditional techniques. Backed by the Lord Venkateswara Charitable and Religious Trust, Pune, nearly 70 percent of the 40,000 sq ft. rooftop work at Simhachalam is complete, while 30 percent of the concrete removal over 24,000 sq ft. at Srisailam is in progress.
Devotees urged temple authorities to avoid using modern concrete without consulting heritage experts and said involving the Archaeological Survey of India before renovation efforts is vital to preserving the integrity of these ancient structures.
