Investigation underway, no arrests yet

The crime occurred at the venue, located on the eastern side of the Kurnool–Guntur State Highway, and came to light an hour later. The duo, who had been residing in Bengaluru for several years due to their real estate business, had travelled to Narasaraopet in Palnadu district on Tuesday evening for court-related work.

Initial investigations suggest the murders were premeditated and stemmed from an ongoing real estate dispute. Police believe the victims were kidnapped from a hotel near the Narasaraopet court premises on Wednesday morning by six individuals in two vehicles and forcibly taken to the real estate venture, where they were brutally murdered with sharp weapons.

The investigation seems to point at Gaddam Anil Kumar Reddy and Badam Madhava Reddy, a former YSRCP Darsi in-charge (2014–2017). The victims reportedly had ongoing conflicts with these business partners, including multiple cheque bounce cases filed against them. They reportedly employed a local Santhamaguluru gang to do their bidding.

Bapatla DSP G. Ramanjaneyulu is supervising the investigation, with multiple police teams formed to trace and apprehend the absconding accused. Forensic teams have collected evidence from the crime scene, and a murder case has been registered. However, police officials confirmed to South First that they are yet to make any arrests and that the bodies are being sent back. They refused to divulge any additional investigation ,citing that the inquiry is still underay.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Home Minister, reacting to the murder of the Bengaluru residents, stated: “The Andhra Pradesh police are investigating the case. Since the victim was from our state, Andhra police will also come here to carry out the investigation. Our police will cooperate with the investigation carried out by their state police.”
