YS Jagan Mohan Reddy

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday, 28 June, alleged that TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu along with his “friendly media”, and his “adopted son” Pawan Kalyan — also the chief of the Jana Sena — were only interested in Tinuko, Dochuko, and Panchuko (devour, plunder, and share among themselves).

He was speaking at Kurupam in the Parvathipuram Manyam district of Andhra Pradesh after kickstarting the Jagananna Amma Vodi scheme.

The programme credits ₹15,000 to the bank accounts of the mothers of school and intermediate students.

Pawan Kalyan criticised

Taking a swipe at Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, the chief minister said that the actor-turned-politician was using abusive language from atop his truck.

“He can control neither his tongue nor himself and cannot even stand still,” said Jagan, adding that he had been behaving as though he has been possessed and was making cheap, lewd, and derogatory comments.

“The foster-son of Chandrababu (a reference to Pawan Kalyan) has got a patent for his foul mouth. But I can’t act like him. I can’t indulge in rowdyism nor can I deliver punch dialogues,” the chief minister said.

Jagan said that Chandrababu won the 2014 Andhra Prades Assembly elections with the backing of Pawan Kalyan, but threw the election manifesto into the dustbin after assuming power and cheated all sections of the people and all regions.

”Now they have joined hands once again with the sole aim of taking the people for a ride one more time. For this, they are adding more dramatic elements to their false promises and fake manifesto this time,” he said.

Unlike the foundations of the TDP, which drew strength from the policy of plunder, stash and devour, and lies and backstabbing, the foundations of the YSRCP grew stronger during the 3,648-km padatyatra and Odarpu Yatra, he said.

Lists out welfare schemes

He also stated that they were further strengthened with the pillars of the welfare of farmers, social justice, revolutionary changes in education, distribution of house site pattas to the poor, empowerment of women, decentralized governance and administration of transparent civic services.

In the last four years, the government spent ₹2.23 lakh crore transparently on DBT welfare schemes benefiting all sections of society, he said, asking the people to think over why TDP failed to do so in its rule.

Asserting that the only philosophy of the YSRCP was “do good to the people”, the chief minister said he depended on people and God.

“I don’t have the media that spreads Goebbels’ theories, I don’t have political alliances, and I don’t have foster sons to stand by me. Still, I am fighting a war for justice with demons who are trying to divide the society,” he told the people, asking them to bring victory to the YSRCP in the next elections if they feel they have benefitted from the welfare schemes.
