The election will be conducted for 14 seats in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council and two seats in the Upper House of Telangana.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Thursday, 9 February, sounded the poll bugle for the election to 14 seats in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council and two in the Upper House of Telangana.
The election would be held for the 16 seats in both states on 13 March, and the counting of votes would take place on 16 March.
The notification for receiving nominations would be issued on 16 February.
The last date for receipt of nominations would be 23 February and scrutiny would be on the next day, 24 February.
The withdrawal of nominations would be allowed till 27 February.
Of the 14 seats in Andhra Pradesh, the election would be held for three graduates, two teachers, and nine local authorities constituencies.

Of the two seats in Telangana, the election would be held for the Hyderabad Local Authorities constituency and the other for Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubangar Teachers’ constituency.
The incumbents of the two seats are Syed Aminul Hasan Jafri (Hyderabad Local Authorities) and Katepally Janardhan Reddy (Mabhbubnagar, Rangareddy, Hyderabad Teachers’ constituency).
Jafri will retire from the Council on 1 May and Janardhan Reddy on 29 March.
