The FIR was registered at Cubbon Park police station in Bengaluru over an altercation during an inspection by personnel of the Bengaluru Central Crime Branch’s Special Enquiry Wing in the early hours of 9 October.
Marmat and his companions allegedly argued with the police, abused them and assaulted personnel during the altercation.
According to the complaint filed by Central Crime Branch Inspector Arun Salunkhe, the confrontation took place at the Corner Bar and Restaurant on Residency Road around 1.30 am, when police personnel were checking the identity cards of people at the establishment to verify their age. Pubs, bars and restaurants in Bengaluru are required to close by 1 am.
