CRDA to take up Amaravati development with Rs. 24,276 crore (Supplied)
The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has approved various works related to the construction of buildings in Amaravati for ₹24,276 crore.
The CRDA at its 43rd meeting, recently gave the green signal for construction, after the state government sanctioned the funds.
The state assembly building will come up in 103 acres. The 250-metre tall building will be in an area of 11.2 lakh sq ft.
When the Assembly is not in session, the upper portion of the building would be open for visitors.
The chief minister’s office will be a 47-storey affair. The building, which will also have the General Administration Department (GA), will come up in 17 lakh sq ft.
The secretariat and the offices for the heads of the departments will be accommodated in five iconic towers. The estimated expenditure for all these is about ₹4,688 crore.
The High Court will be in 20.32 lakh sq ft, in an area of 42 acres. The building will have eight storeys and will be 55 metres tall. The building is estimated to cost ₹1,048 crore.

In the Amaravati region, the total length of the highways will be 360 km, of which 152 km of the highways will involve an expenditure of ₹7,794 crore. The total value of the works to be taken up in four phases in Amaravati will be about ₹45,249.24 crore.
Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana, speaking to South First said, “In the next three years, we will complete the Amaravati project as one of the five best cities in the world. We are speeding it up. Tenders will be called on 23 December.”
