Chandrababu Naidu appoints Srinivasa Rao Yadav as TDP’s Andhra Pradesh president

Naidu exuded confidence that Yadav, who worked as Visakhapatnam TDP Parliamentary party president, will successfully undertake the new responsibility.

TDP supremo and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has appointed Gajuwaka MLA P Srinivasa Rao Yadav as the party’s state president, replacing Agriculture Minister K Atchannaidu.

Srinivasa Rao Yadav has been appointed president of the Andhra Pradesh TDP unit after K Atchannaidu,  was taken into the cabinet.

As a member of Naidu’s 25-strong ministerial council, Atchhannaidu has been entrusted with the departments of agriculture, co-operation, marketing, animal husbandry and dairy development & fisheries.

Naidu exuded confidence that Yadav, who worked as Visakhapatnam TDP Parliamentary Party president, will successfully undertake the new responsibility.

“I am appointing Gajuwaka MLA P Srinivas Rao Yadav as Andhra Pradesh TDP president … I congratulate senior party leader Atchhnaidu, who led the party till now as its president,” Naidu said in the appointment letter shared on the Telugu Desam Party’s (TDP) X handle on Sunday, 16 June.

The Gajuwaka MLA defeated his nearest rival YSRC candidate and former minister Gudivada Amarnath with a majority of 95,235 votes, the highest in Andhra Pradesh.

After the division of the state in 2014, the post went to North Andhra for the third time in a row. The first president of the TDP Andhra Pradesh unit was Kala Venkata Rao in 2015.  In 2020, K Atchannaidu took over as its presdient. Both are from Srikakulam district.

Srinivasa Rao Yadav is from Visakhapatnam district.
