Andhra Pradesh will set up India’s first Transmedia Entertainment City.
The state government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Creative Land Asia for developing the city. The MoU was signed at the ongoing World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES), 2025, in Mumbai.
Minister for Tourism and Entertainment Kandula Durgesh, who is in Vietnam, said in an official statement on Saturday, 3 May, that the project would bring immersive theme parks, gaming zones, and global cinema co-production zones to Andhra Pradesh, significantly boosting tourism, employment, and digital innovation.
State Tourism Development Corporation Managing Director Aamrapali Kata, Creative Land Studios founder and Creators Inc. (London) chairman C Sajan Raj Kurup, and representatives from the global advisory board, including David Unger (CEO, Artists International), William Pfeiffer (Managing Director, Globalgate), and Nicholas Granatino (Chairman, Novacquark), formally signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations.

The minister described the partnership as a milestone in the state’s efforts to promote film and entertainment tourism, noting that the MoU is more than just an infrastructure agreement and that it aims to build an ecosystem that nurtures talent, innovation, and tourism.
He hoped that the planned world-class production hub would not only boost the entertainment economy but also transform visitor experiences through high-end immersive zones and global-level facilities. The minister added that this collaboration reflects the state’s commitment to diverse, high-quality content production, with a focus on AVGC (Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics) and VFX sectors powered by cutting-edge technology.
The project is expected to attract an estimated ₹8,000–₹10,000 crore in investment over the next five to six years, and include AI-powered real-time rendering, volumetric capture technologies, immersive theme parks, esports arenas, VFX studios, and global co-production facilities. A dedicated Creator’s Land Academy will train youth in AI, VFX, gaming, and immersive storytelling, supported by a virtual studio complex.
Besides, the initiative will open up skill development and job creation in creative and tech domains across Andhra Pradesh and the rest of India, with a potential to create over 1.5 lakh new jobs in AI, R&D, VFX, gaming, entertainment tech, and tourism.
Creative Land is also in talks to set up over 20 such studios worldwide, using India as its global production base.
At the signing of the MoU, Aamrapali Kata said that the project would significantly enhance the tourism sector, offering a holistic model that integrates entertainment infrastructure, skills, and local economy to elevate Andhra Pradesh’s global creative profile. She called it a “blueprint for integrated growth driven by future-ready infrastructure”.
Creative Land Asia founder Sajan Raj Kurup said, “Creator’s Land is not just a destination, but a creative movement, blending technology with culture, and global talent with Indian imagination.”
He called the partnership a milestone in India’s journey to becoming a global content powerhouse, aiming to transform the country into a hub for digital creativity, employment, and cultural diplomacy.
