Synopsis: In Thursday’s wrap of news and developments in Andhra Pradesh— the government announced SSC exams will be held from 17th March to 1st April, from 9:30 am to 12:45 pm at 3,450 centres. Over 6.19 lakh students will appear. Guidelines include Section 144 enforcement, closure of Xerox and internet centres, mobile phone bans, and strict action against fake news. The Andhra Pradesh state government officially announced the schedule for the SSC (Secondary School Certificate) examinations on Wednesday, 12 March. The exams will be held from 17th March to 1st April, from 9:30 am to 12:45 pm at 3,450 exam centres across the state. A total of 6,19,275 students are expected to appear for the exams.
Several guidelines have been issued to ensure smooth and secure conduct of the examinations. Section 144 will be enforced within a 100-meter radius of all exam centres on exam days, while Xerox and internet centres within exam centre premises will remain closed.
Strict action will be taken against individuals spreading fake news or rumours. A control room, reachable at 08662974540, has been set up at the state level for any support. Additionally, mobile phones will be prohibited inside the exam centres, except for the Chief Superintendent.
Coordination meetings at the district level, involving district collectors and SPs, will be conducted to ensure everything runs smoothly during the examination period.

In a disturbing incident, a woman Sub-Inspector (SI), Devi, was physically assaulted and abused by a group of intoxicated youths at the Gudivada village fair in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh.
The miscreants, allegedly under the influence of marijuana, pulled her hair and hurled verbal abuses. Overwhelmed by the attack, the officer had to flee for safety.
Nine suspects have been arrested, while one remains absconding. Authorities have launched a probe into the incident.
Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council Opposition Leader Botsa Satyanarayana has written to Governor Abdul Nazeer, highlighting alleged unconstitutional and illegal activities by the TDP and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.
In his letter, Satyanarayana claimed that the state machinery was operating in violation of the law. He referenced a statement attributed to Naidu, warning of dire consequences for any support to the YSRCP, no matter how small. Additionally, Satyanarayana alleged that YSRCP members and their activities were being unfairly persecuted by law enforcement.
