Synopsis: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has fast-tracked highway construction in Andhra Pradesh, setting a July deadline to clear land and environmental hurdles. With 144 projects underway and 1,040 km targeted in 2025, the state nears 97% completion of its pothole-free mission. Naidu also launched Vision Action Plan Units across all districts under the Swarna Andhra 2047 roadmap, focusing on ten key sectors.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to resolve all land acquisition and environmental clearance issues for national and state highway projects by July-end, emphasizing “zero tolerance” for further delays.
Naidu warned contractors and officials during a review at the Secretariat that Andhra Pradesh cannot afford infrastructure setbacks.
Of the under-construction roads, 1,392 km fall under NHAI and 2,091 km under MoRTH.
Since launching the ₹860.81 crore “Mission Pothole-Free Roads” in November 2024, the government has repaired 19,475 km of roads, with the remaining works set to finish by July 31.
Also, In a major push toward long-term development, CM Naidu virtually inaugurated Vision Action Plan Units in all 26 districts and 175 constituencies.
Naidu stated the initiative closes a long-standing gap — MLAs now have an official government office within their constituencies for the first time.

To drive comprehensive development, Andhra Pradesh will prioritize:
“Our goal is to make Andhra Pradesh a Healthy, Wealthy, and Happy state,” Naidu said.
Naidu said Swarna Andhra 2047 complements PM Modi’s national development roadmap.
“India is now the 4th largest economy and will become 3rd within two years. Telugus make up 30 percent of top income earners globally,” he said.
Major infrastructure deadlines set
Naidu blamed previous inaction for Polavaram delays and vowed acceleration.
MLAs and ministers are encouraged to become mentors to poor families. Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu has pledged to adopt 10 families under the P4 initiative.
Despite financial strain, 78 of 93 neglected central schemes have been revived. Andhra Pradesh is targeting 15 percent growth, with detailed plans under execution.
“We’ve regained investor confidence, mobilized welfare funds, and put systems back on track. Now, we must sustain momentum,” said CM Naidu.
