Synopsis: G. Sai Prasad, who took over as Chief Secretary to the state government on Saturday, has been placed in Full Additional Charge of two more posts — Special Chief Secretary to Government, Water Resources Department, and Special Chief Secretary to Government, Revenue (Land, DM, Registration & Stamps) Department.
The Andhra Pradesh government has appointed outgoing Chief Secretary and senior IAS officer K Vijayanand as Ex-Officio Special Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister with immediate effect, immediately after his retirement on Saturday, 28 February.
The orders (G.O.RT.No.493) also placed him in Full Additional Charge (FAC) of two significant posts — Special Chief Secretary to the government, Energy Department, and Chairman and Managing Director, APTRANSCO.
The re-employment is effective from 1 March 2026 and will continue for a period of one year or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
The move is seen as the government’s effort to retain an experienced hand in critical areas of energy administration. He will be reporting directly to the Chief Minister.
In a related development, the government, through another order (G.O.RT.No.494) issued on the same day, transferred and posted Muddada Ravichandra as Executive Officer of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). He had been holding additional charge as EO until now.
Meanwhile, G.
