Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday, 28 June, called for an all-out focus on cleanliness, disease prevention, and improved urban infrastructure as the monsoon season approaches. In a review with the Municipal Administration Department, he urged officials to prevent water contamination and mosquito-borne diseases, stressing the need for clean drainage systems and regulated poultry waste disposal. He also proposed a dedicated poultry waste management policy linked to the circular economy.
The chief minister emphasised the need to uplift the beneficiaries under the Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas (DWCRA) by enhancing product quality, providing skill development, and tapping into online marketplaces. He reiterated the importance of transparency in municipal spending and completing civic works, like roads, on time.

Addressing legacy waste, Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) usage, and the welfare of outsourced workers, he criticised mismanagement by the previous government and demanded swift reforms. He also pushed for the effective utilisation of central funds, including ₹5,800 crore from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and ₹3,000 crore under Swachh Bharat.
