Andhra Pradesh CM disburses ₹1,294 crore under YSR Rythu Bharosa- PM Kisan scheme

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday, 28 February, disbursed ₹1,294 crore under the YSR Rythu Bharosa – PM Kisan scheme for the fifth year.

The fund also included interest subvention for the fourth year under the YSR Sunna Vaddi Panta Runalu scheme.

Out of ₹1,294 crore, ₹1,078 crore funds have been disbursed to more than 53 lakh farmers at the rate of ₹2,000, while ₹216 crore will go in the form of interest subvention for timely repayment of interest on crop loans taken during Rabi-2021 and Kharif-2022 seasons to 11 lakh farmers.

Speaks on farmers’ welfare

• Reddy emphasised the crucial link between state welfare and farmers’ welfare, stating that the government has undertaken numerous measures for farmers’ welfare over the past 57 months.
• Under the Rythu Bharosa scheme, the YSRCP government has provided ₹67,500 to each farmer over the last 57 months, exceeding the promised amount of ₹50,000 within five years, he said.
• The state government has consistently implemented various welfare schemes aimed at supporting farmers and providing them with assistance at every stage, contrasting with the previous TDP regime’s failure to fulfil the ₹87,612 crore loan waiver promise, according to Reddy.
• Reddy noted that ₹34,288 crore has been disbursed under the YSR Rythu Bharosa – PM Kisan scheme and ₹2,050 crore under the YSR Sunna Vaddi Panta Runalu scheme, benefiting 85 lakh farmers thus far.
• He highlighted that both schemes significantly aid small and marginal farmers by covering 80 percent of their cultivation expenses.
