Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary K Vijayanand has directed officials to expedite admissions in welfare hostels and residential schools across Andhra Pradesh.

During a high-level review at the Secretariat on Tuesday, 8 July, he emphasised strict adherence to quality standards in food, hygiene, and student welfare. He stressed that all hostels must implement face-recognition-based attendance systems linked to RTGS for real-time monitoring.

To ensure student health and safety, he called for regular pest control, clean kitchens, and dining areas. Quality meals, safe drinking water, clean toilets, and daily cleaning routines were highlighted as top priorities.
