The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has unveiled six policies to boost industrial development with a focus on massive job creation.

“Today, the Cabinet approved six landmark policies that will transform Andhra Pradesh into an industrial powerhouse, marking a significant step towards fulfilling our 20 lakhs jobs creation promise,” Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said after chairing the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, 16 October.

“These policies align with our vision to attract investment, create jobs, boost entrepreneurship, and lead in clean energy. Our major focus is employment generation and empowering the youth of AP to think globally and act globally, with initiatives like One Family, One Entrepreneur,” he added on X.

The six policies are:

  1. AP Industrial Development Policy 4.0 (AP IDP 4.0)
  2. AP MSME & Entrepreneur Development Policy 4.0 (AP MEDP 4.0)
  3. AP Food Processing Policy 4.0 (AP FPP 4.0)
  4. AP Electronics Policy 4.0 (AP EP 4.0)
  5. AP Private Parks Policy 4.0 (AP PPP 4.0)
  6. AP Integrated Clean Energy Policy 4.0 (AP ICE 4.0)

One family, one entrepreneur

He said as far as giving a fillip to the MSMEs, the government will encourage at least one entrepreneur from each family.

“I have no doubt that the policies I have unveiled now would put the state back on the road to development and bring in a sea change in the future of the teeming youth of the state,” Naidu said.

The chief minister said a major innovation hub planned at Amaravati would be named after Ratan Tata, industrialist and philanthropist who passed away on 9 October.

Similar five hubs would come up in Visakhapatnam, Rajamahendravaram, Tirupati, Vijayawada, or Guntur and Anantapur. Naidu said he was looking at a flourishing knowledge economy in the state, helping the people have access to modern technology.

The chief minister, referring to the Vision-2047 document, said that it would be released in the first week of November. The document would provide a roadmap for turning the state into a manufacturing hub and secure international recognition of the goods produced in the state.

“Vision-2047 is to facilitate landing ₹30 lakh crore investments into the state and exporting products worth US$40 billion. “A Cabinet sub-committee will be constituted to work towards the creation of the 20 lakh jobs in the next five years,” the chief minister said.

Cabinet dumps garbage tax

Naidu said there the state government would promote rapid industrial development across the state. “We are planning to develop an industrial park on 10,000 acres at Bhavanapadu in Srikakulam district,” the chief minister said.

He said the Cabinet had cleared a proposal for the formation of a ministerial sub-committee to effectively implement a ban on smuggling and consumption of drugs.

As promised ahead of the Assembly elections, the state government would put in place an exclusive setup to deal with drug smuggling. The main Anti-Narcotic Task Force office will be set up in Amaravati. There would be anti-narcotic teams, one each in all 26 districts.

Five special courts or fast tracks will be set up to work under the high court. The Cabinet, by another decision, approved a proposal to do away with the garbage tax. The Cabinet also proposed to make all roads in the state free of potholes.
