Naming the meals based on religion rather than on dietary preference has raised questions.

On 17 June, Congress’ Virudhunagar MP, Manickam Tagore raised concerns over Air India labelling meals on religious basis. The ‘dining’ experience’ page on the Air India website lists a “Hindu meal” and a “Moslem meal”. It specifies in the latter that meals are prepared in a “certified halal kitchen”. Naming meals based on religion rather than dietary preference raises questions.
