The Kannada film industry is back on track with two box-office hits in 2023 — Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare and Kousalya Supraja Rama. Let’s review new releases for August.
Actor Komal Kumar will return with the sequel to his hit film Namo Bhootatma, a horror comedy released in 2014. It is scheduled to release on 4 August.
The director revealed that like the first part, the sequel won’t be a horror flick but would have different flavours — comedy and a surprise element for the audience.
Breaking away from her onscreen “pretty” image, Shanvi Srivastava tried her hands at martial arts, to pack a few punches at the baddies in her upcoming Kannada release Baang.
It is directed by Sree Ganesh Parashuram. Shanvi Srivastava will feature alongside singer-composer Raghu Dixit and Shravya in the film. It is releasing on 18 August.
Kshetrapathi, which means farmer in Sanskrit, is directed by engineer-turned-filmmaker Srikant Katagi. The film starring Naveen Shankar highlights the agrarian crisis.
