Following a sluggish start in its initial two days of release, the Telugu dubbed version of Premalu surged to dominance at the box office by raking in respectable collections.
Due to the competition from Vishwak Sen’s Gaami (2024) and Gopichand’s Bhimaa (2024), there was a doubt in the trade circles that Premalu might get washed away.
With an average of over 10,000 tickets sold, evening shows and matinees in cities and district centres in the two Telugu states have consistently reported full houses.
Despite the availability of screens for the films Gaami and Bhimaa, these films could not draw the audience. This resulted in theatre owners bringing the Telugu version of Premalu.
It appears that Premalu will achieve blockbuster status in Telugu. Reports from Chennai indicate a positive response to the Tamil dubbed version of the film.
With total collections crossing ₹115 crore across all languages, Premalu stands as one of the low-budget productions to secure a spot among the top 10 industry hits of all time.
