Malayalam actor-TV anchor Subi Suresh, who rose to fame with her unique comic roles, died at a private hospital in Aluva near Kochi on Wednesday, 22 February. She was 41.
She was undergoing treatment for liver disease for some time. But she was diagnosed with a kidney infection which also affected the functioning of her heart.
Soon after her demise, the admin of her Facebook account posted a message: “Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end. See you all again… Thanks.”
Subi Suresh was good at mimicry, mono act and dancing. Her cinematic dance performance paved her way to Kalabhavan, a training centre for mimicry and mono-acting.
She made her debut in Rajasenan’s Kanakasimhasanam in 2006. She also acted in Thaskaralahala, Lucky Jokers, Drama, Elsamma Enna Aankutty, Happy Husbands, Dolls, etc.
Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Culture Minister Saji Cheriyan, actors, including Mammootty and Dileep, condoled the death of the actor-TV anchor.
He said the laws are not made for the easy process of a liver transplant due to fraudulent practices. Had the liver transplant been done before, Subi’s life could have been saved, he added.
