Directed by Kranthi Madhav, World Famous Lover tanked miserably when it was released in February 2020. With a budget of ₹35 crore, it left a hole in the pockets of producers.
Fans came in support of Deverakonda and questioned why an actor should pay for the losses of a producer. Interestingly nobody from the industry has written in support of the actor.
Yesteryear stars like Superstar Late actor Krishna and Rajinikanth, too, faced such bitter situations. But, the broader understanding of movie making made them more pragmatic.
Both actors and investors (producers) would protect each other. If a producer suffers a loss, the actor would promise him to do a film and forgo his remuneration if required.
Though Vijay Deverakonda is a producer, technically, he has barely found a grip. Compared to the stars, he is not so financially off to forgo a film’s remuneration.
