Superstar Rajinikanth, who is believed to have watched his upcoming film Jailer on the premises of Sun TV on Monday, 7 August, is all set to head to the Himalayas for a week.
Meanwhile, his excited fans in Tamil Nadu are making a mad rush to purchase the tickets for the action entertainer that is gearing up for a worldwide release on 10 August.
Sources close to the actor said that Rajini will not be in town for Jailer‘s release and that he will be heading to the Himalayas for a spiritual sojourn.
Meanwhile, the state seems to have been caught in the grip of Jailer fever, with tickets for the movie being sold like hot cakes, much to the delight of theatre owners.
The craze to watch the first show on the first day prevailed with fans buying tickets for the 9 AM show at theatres on the outskirts of Chennai at almost nine times the original price.
“The 9 AM show is the first show and there is a mad rush for tickets for this particular one. In theatres located on the Chennai outskirts, each ticket is being sold for ₹1500.” Says a source.
“For the other shows on the first day — the noon show, the matinee, the evening show and the night shows — the price of each ticket ranges between ₹750 to ₹1,000” the source added.
Directed by Nelson, Jailer also features Malayalam Superstar Mohan Lal, Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff, Kannada Superstar Shivarajkumar, Telugu actor Sunil, and many more.
