Now, nearly 24 years later, a sequel to the movie is being discussed. As per the latest update, the Chitram sequel will have a new hero with a storyline that will meet the current trends.
It is reported that the decision regarding the lead actor has already been made. However, which production house will bankroll the project remains a point of interest.
While Usha Kiran Movies, is not active in film production anymore, the grapevine has it that senior director Teja might collaborate with ETV Win to bankroll the sequel.
On the other hand, director Teja has already announced that he is doing a movie Rakshasa Raja with Rana Daggubati. He also mentioned that the film is in progress.
Teja and Rana’s previous venture, Nene Raju Nene Mantri (2017), was a blockbuster hit at the box office. It was dubbed in Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi, too.
