The distribution firm claimed that an impressive 10,000+ tickets were booked for the film within a day, 42 days before the global release. The movie features actor Vijay in the lead.

To give an idea of how substantial this volume of sales was, Ahimsa said that its previous film Varisu (2023) sold around 2,000 tickets in the first 24 hours of pre-booking in January 2023.

What is interesting to note is that Ahimsa Entertainment chose to start pre-bookings six weeks before Leo‘s release. This unprecedented move seems to be paying off.

Ahimsa Entertainment has a proven track record of distributing Indian films abroad. They distributed Vijay’s Beast (2022) in the US which became a significant hit.

Similarly, their release of Varisu in the UK achieved the same milestone — with the project becoming yet another top earner for the actor in the region.

“The response has been overwhelming. With a strong team including Vijay, Lokesh Kanagaraj, Anirudh, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, and Trisha, we were hopeful for such numbers.”

“We’re aiming to make this the largest-ever release for an Indian film in the UK, and we’re grateful for the continuous support from fans.” Ahimsa Entertainment stated.
