Sankara College of Optometry brings students in South India to celebrate and compete in Reflektionz

Sankara College of Optometry (SCO) based in Bengaluru, recently kicked off ‘Reflektionz’, a National Intercollegiate Cultural Festival at the Sankara Eye Hospital Campus.

450 students from optometry colleges across southern India participated. Themed ‘Wonderland’, the fest offered 19 literary, cultural and performing arts events across four stages.

Professor Aditya Goyal, Principal, (SCO) said, “The event received an overwhelming response. Students from different states have added much-needed vibrancy.”

“This intercollegiate optometry festival provided a real-life learning platform to our students who were involved from planning to execution.”

Binoy Karmen, director of the movie Blindfold, shared, “Success is not all about the degrees you gain, but it’s about finding your passion and working towards it.”

At the inaugural of the festival, Jaya Bhavya, executive council member of CII Young Indians, shared, “It is important for students to participate in extracurricular activities.”

“It will help build their confidence and career. I appreciate the variety of cultural events planned, which bring out the creative energy in the students,” he added

Lavanya, a storyteller, shared her journey of overcoming her father’s death during COVID. She pledged her eyes and encouraged students to become ambassadors for organ donation.
