Director Ganesh Raj’s Pookkaalam (Season of Flowers) is based on a real-life incident that happened in Italy.

Entertainment

Ittoop (Vijayaraghavan) finds a letter that gives hints about his wife Kochuthresiya’s (KPAC Leela) affair a long time ago. Furious, he tries to get a divorce.

Entertainment

Elsy (Annu Antony), the granddaughter of Ittoop and Kochuthresiya, tries to find the person who wrote the letter with the help of Jikku Mon (Basil Joseph).

Entertainment

Pookkaalam is a tearjerker and at the same time, it has an equal number of lighter moments. It has a complex plot but sadly, we can predict the end.

Entertainment

Ganesh Raj deserves applause for adding comedy to such an intense plot. Though some comic scenes are forced, they evoke laughter.

Entertainment

Sarath Sabha as the young priest, Johny Antony as the Kochuthresia’s lawyer, and Basil Joseph contribute a lot to the comedy sequences.

Entertainment

Women characters, especially KPAC Leela’s Kochuthresiya, have the utmost importance in the movie. However, Ittoop likes his sons more than his daughters.

Entertainment

Suhasini plays Clara, one of the daughters of Ittoop. Clara re-enters at a crucial point.

Entertainment

Vijayaraghavan is the soul of the movie. KPAC Leela gives her best. Abu Salem tries something new.

Entertainment

Cinematographer Anand C Chandran captures the visuals well. A couple of the songs composed by Sachin Warrier are soothing to hear.
