Debutant Sasiidhar Chavali’s directorial Mr King, starring newcomers Sharan Kumar, Yashvika Nishikala, and Urvi Singh, released on 24 February.

Entertainment

Shiva (Sharan) is a top-ranking student who graduated as an aeronautical engineer. He takes up an innovative research project.

Entertainment

Uma Devi (Yashvika), Shiva’s neighbour, falls in love with him. Her father Seetha Rama Raju (Murali Sharma) is against their relationship due to Shiva’s financial status.

Entertainment

How Shiva faces these challenges in both his personal and professional life, and how he wins over his love and life ambition is the story of Mr King.

Entertainment

Amateurish handling of the screenplay and immature treatment took the steam out of a good story. Too many subplots also add to the confusion!

Entertainment

Director Sasiidhar Chavali needs to be appreciated for coming up with a good script.

Entertainment

But filmmaking is now all about entertaining the audience rather than educating, and Mr King falls short in this aspect.

Entertainment

Debut actors Sharan, Yashvika and Urvi Singh are fine in their respective characters.

Entertainment

Sunil’s role is a regular one. Vennela Kishore’s comedy is impressive. Murali Sharma stands out with his performance.

Entertainment

While there aren’t any chart-busters or memorable numbers, Mani Sharma did a good job on the background score. Cinematographer Tanvir Anzum is impressive.
