The pre-sales of the big-budget Malayalam film touched the 3-crore mark, thereby beating the earlier record created by the Malayalam version of the Kannada movie KGF 2 (2022).
King of Kotha will have a remarkable number of 1,613 shows on day one. About 196,810 tickets have been sold. The movie features Aishwarya Lekshmi, Gokul Suresh, and more.
King of Kotha created a huge hype as Dulquer’s Malayalam movie is hitting the screens after a gap of two years. Kurup (2021) was his last theatrical release in Malayalam.
Apart from King of Kotha, Ramachandra Boss & Co is the other big movie releasing for Onam this year. It is a crucial movie for Nivin Pauly who doesn’t have any recent box office hits.
RDX starring Antony Varghese, Shane Nigam, and Neeraj Madhav is also coming out this Onam. The makers of these three films claimed that their ventures would be entertainers.
Anoop Naroor, one of the partners in Kannur-based Aura Cinemas, told South First that Jailer came as a huge relief for the exhibitors in Kerala and helped them recover their losses.
Another exhibitor from Kochi also expressed the same opinion. “All the shows for King of Kotha have been booked and we expect a good Onam season this year,” he said.
