The Kerala police have no information about such largescale recruitment to the IS as claimed in the teaser.

The Kerala Police have sought legal opinion on whether a case should be registered for spreading such a falsehood.

Oommen Chandy in 2012 had said that 2,667 women in the state had converted to Islam.

Though the former chief minister had not mentioned this was an annual figure, Sen used this to calculate that it would add up to 32,000 in 10 years.

Sen claimed that  VS Achuthanandan told a news conference in 2005 that the IS had hatched a plan to make Kerala the hub of the organisation.

The leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Assembly VD Satheesan has said that the teaser was a “clear case of misinformation”.
