Actress Aishwarya Rajesh, who has clearly created a space for herself in the South Indian film industry, is in the mood to dispel some misconceptions.

The actress has clarified that she has nothing but profound admiration for actress Rashmika Mandanna’s work in the pan-Indian blockbuster film, Pushpa (2021).

She said, “I was asked in a recent interview about the roles I want to do in Telugu cinema.”

“To cite an example, I said I liked the character of Srivalli in Pushpa a lot”, as the actress felt such characters would suit her, she added.

“However, the reporting on this give an impression that I was disparaging the fantastic work of actress Rashmika Mandanna” she added.

The actress also requested those peddling the rumours to stop speculating, the actress urged people not to attribute malicious motives to a simple statement.

The actress, has had a series of releases in Tamil, beginning with Run Baby Run (2023), Driver Jamuna (2022 and Farhana (2023), in the last five months.

However, director Nelson Venkatesan’s Farhana, which released last week, is mired in controversy, with some Muslim organisations taking exception to the film and calling it “anti-Islamic”.
