Ajay Devgn’s 4th directorial venture Bholaa takes inspiration from Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Kaithi (2019)

Entertainment

Kaithi was a gripping thriller about a prisoner who is desperate to meet his daughter. It wasn't a mindless commercial entertainer.

Entertainment

On the other hand, Ajay Devgn’s Bholaa is more generic. His character has a larger-than-life aura and mythical undertones.

Entertainment

For those who haven’t seen Kaithi, Bholaa revolves around an ex-convict of the same name (Ajay Devgn).

Entertainment

Bholaa is desperate to meet his daughter who stays in an orphanage and has no idea that she has a parent.

Entertainment

IPS officer Diana Joseph is played by Tabu, and her inclusion in Bholaa is the best thing about the film.

Entertainment

Diana seeks helps from Bholaa, who initially refuses until she promises to help him meet his daughter.

Entertainment

Bholaa becomes embroiled in a conflict between the police and drug traffickers, and the story follows his struggle to defeat them and reunite with his daughter.

Entertainment

Among the plethora of bad guys, Deepak Dobriyal is the only one who makes a solid impression.

Entertainment

The film ends with a hint of a sequel but it would have been far better if Ajay Devgn had tied up the loose ends.

Entertainment

Abhishek Bachchan also makes a tiny appearance at the end without any impact.

Entertainment

Verdict: The best way to watch Bholaa is by not comparing it with Kaithi.
